Following difficulty with our own Willys Jeep dynamo
charging system we ended up developing a 6 volt to 12 volt conversion for
the standard Autolite Dynamo regulator box as fitted to the wartime Willys
MB and Ford GPW jeeps.
This conversion allows you to retain your original Jeep dynamo but
running at a charge rate of 12 volts instead of the usual 6 volts.
The benefits or converting to 12 volts are greater cranking speed for better starting and probably more importantly 12 volt headlamps so you can actually see where you are going at night.
******** TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION THE JEEP REGULATOR UNIT SHOWN IN THE PHOTO IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS LISTING.
YOU NEED TO SUPPLY YOUR OWN REGULATOR UNIT ********
Details of the conversion:
The internals of the existing regulator are removed and replaced with modern electronic control. After conversion the regulator box looks exactly the same as it did and all
electrical cable connections are still made to the original terminals on the regulator box.
What you will get :
Original dynamo regulator control box converted to run at 12 volts with a max charge rate of 20 amps (perfectly adequate for a Jeep)
What we need from you :
You need to supply your original control box for the basis of the conversion, this need not be working but it must be complete with base, lid and internal circuit board onto which the terminal lugs are fitted.
Later on we hope to have a supply of regulator boxes so that we can sell complete units but until then we can only convert your own
existing parts.
When you pay with Paypal you will then need to post your existing control box to use for conversion.
Typical turn around time from receiving the control box is 3 to 5 days but at busy periods please allow a little longer, we will send out your converted part as soon as we can.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATING TO THE RETURN OF COMPLETE FUEL INJECTION VEHICLE KITS
The vehicle kits will normally be supplied with the ECU pre loaded with an initial start file.
This initial start file is simply provided as an aid for
engine starting, it should not be considered a suitable final
calibration for your engine.
You must be prepared to undertake further ECU calibration work to ensure the ECU files are tailored to your vehicle.
Failure to successfully complete the calibration process may lead to poor vehicle driveability or even damage to your engine.
Our Classic Fuel Injection Kits are custom built to order and to the
customer general specification and as such are exempt from automatic
return rights under Consumer Contract regulations.
By ordering this
conversion kit you understand that further ECU calibration work will be
required and the final results are outside of our control.
We cannot accept returns or claims arising from failure to successfully complete the calibration process.
